January is the best time and place to be in Scottsdale, Arizona. The area is known for the vintage and classic car events that week that has evolved into the Scottsdale Collector Car Auction Week with events at Barrett Jackson, Gooding, RM Auctions, Bonhams, Russo and Steele, and Silver auctions. It is one of the biggest car weeks of the year and Anghel Restorations is in the middle of all the action and easily accessible for those visiting.

Shop owner Marcus Anghel is an MCA National Gold Card Judge specializing in 1969-1970 Mustangs and 1969 to 1971 Boss, as well as a Shelby Club of America National Head Judge for Boss Mustangs and a contributor to Mustang Monthly magazine. He’s holding this judges seminar and Open House that will focus on the mighty 1969 and 1970 Boss 302s. The goal is to help both restorers and judges better understand the differences between the two years and will feature both a fully detailed 1969 and 1970 Boss 302 motor on engine stands to showcase this side by side.

Restoration techniques will be discussed on various components as well as looking at original unrestored pieces. This will give a good overview for when judging or building or showing one of these cars and is a perfect compliment to the recently written Boss 302 engine detailing guide (see AnghelRestorations.com). Come prepared to discuss and ask questions in this open forum that will also feature historian/writer/editor Donald Farr discussing and showing early 1970s photos of these cars before they were collector items. It should be a good time for all in attendance, and educational for anyone that needs to brush up on their Boss 302 knowledge. Boss Mustangs will be on display as will several other special Fords.
