Now in its fourth year, the Sacramento Raceway Show & Go event, hosted by Capital Mustang Car Club, AED and supported by Sinister Racing, continues to bring in fast fords from all over California for a day of tire smoke, tail-out action and plenty of showing and shining.

Corner-carvers kick off the event in the early hours of the morning with an autocross event at the topside of the dragstrip. Plenty of modern and classic Mustangs were out killing the cones, and there were even a slew Focus STs and Fiesta STs along with less likely cone killers like Lightnings and even a Fusion or two - it didn’t matter what FoMoCo enthusiasts were driving so long as they were down for some high-speed fun.

Astute readers will recognize Tayron Young’s wicked Terminator Cobra that’s already graced the pages of MM&FF thanks to a cohesive package with killer mods.
Young’s white 2.3L blower is color matched to his Terminator and it, along with supporting mods helps it make nearly 700whp.

After the last apex was cut, Sacramento Raceway went live with a field of over 100 drag racers and an infield area packed with 200 show cars. The Capital Mustang Car Club hosted the massive car show with over 20 classes and dozens of trophies. There was everything from mild to wild, slammed to cammed, and blown to bagged; there were plenty of classic Stangs, modern Stangs, Focus, Fiestas and Fairmonts, and everything in between.

The AED-sponsored drag racing featured multiple classes with sportsman and pro trees, each competing for a sizable purse, along with a fun-run class that only cost a couple bucks. As expected, the pavement at Sacramento Raceway Park was biting hard and producing solid E.T.’s for the large number of 8-, 9-, and 10-second cars competing for the top prize.

No matter if you like show or go, the Sacramento Raceway Show & Go is a great excuse to race down the dragstrip or shine up your fast Ford and spend the day with likeminded Blue Oval fans. For more information on upcoming events visit www.sacramentoraceway.

Here’s another MM&FF former feature car, Julio Gonzalez’ Grabber Blue Three-Valve GT with TSW wheels, a JLT intake, a Ford Racing throttle-body, and much more.
The Capital Mustang Car Club has been hosting the show for four years and it continues to grow thanks to a killer list of activities, lots of trophies, autocross, drag racing and plenty of dedication from the club’s members.
