For many years, Los Angeles area Ford dealer Galpin Ford has been the largest by-volume Ford dealer in the world. We’ve heard the store often sells more than 1,000 vehicles a month—easily more than 30 per day.

With that in mind, it seems fitting that Galpin should have an annual show where enthusiasts can bring their own cars to display as well as check out the new ones in the showroom. There’s also Galpin Auto Sports, which is a customizing and installation shop across the street from the main dealership as well as a museum-like display facility that’s next door to GAS.

While all that is certainly worth checking out, it was naturally the vintage Mustangs (and a few other vintage Ford cars) that drew us to the 5th annual gathering at the dealership among hundreds of other cars in attendance of which all makes and models are allowed to partake. And while the September 18th, 2016 triple-digit temperatures meant loading up on the sun block, all the early Mustangs were great and a few stood out to us as we strolled the show shooting photos.

One of those cars is a super-original ’67 fastback that original owner Jim Duthler bought new in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This Vintage Burgundy time machine is an A-code 289 four-barrel car with a three-speed manual trans. Jim reports its 91,000 miles are also original.

So as you can see, this show is now a solid tradition and has definitely turned into a must-see for enthusiasts around California. For more on the Galpin dealerships, future shown dates and GAS, head over to galpinautosports.com.
