Day 3 of the Hot Rod Power Tour started off in Houston, Texas. I had made a little miscalculation on hotel booking and we wound up a good ways away from the group the night before, but it ended up working out great because we bypassed all of the Monday morning Houston traffic. We were driving for less than 10 minutes when we started spotting other cars on the road.

We were cruising along Interstate 10 when we decided to stop for gas at Buc-ee's gas station. The next thing we knew we were right in the middle of an impromptu car show. Over 50 hot rods lined the parking lot as people began to question where we were all headed. At the stop I had the pleasure of meeting some of the members of Space City Mustangs. The group had a variety of gorgeous Mustangs and one gorgeous driver of a non-Mustang but she was just as fun!

The first couple of days on the Power Tour you just wave at anyone you saw on the Tour, but as the days go on the camaraderie started setting in. You begin to recognize drivers and not just cars and you find yourself looking around at the show to make sure all your new friends made it. I feel like by the end of the week I'm going to have 1,000 new car friends, and we all know they are the best kind to have!

When we arrived at the Circuit of America's the heat was the overall theme of the day. 104 degrees with a whole lot of sunshine beat the sweat out of everyone. It was all I could do to keep my cameras from overheating—not to mention myself. Luckily we made some crafty friends and got to cruise the show in style on a motorized picnic table! Be sure to check out the live stream on Facebook to see the awesome ride.

Tomorrow we head to Trader's Village in Grand Prairie, TX.
