The thrill of purchasing a Ford Mustang is amazing and the volume is ramped up when that Mustang is a Shelby GT350. With a track-capable suspension and 526-horsepower under the hood, your adrenaline is sure to rise. But Ford announced today that original owners of 2015 and 2016 Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT350R Mustang’s will receive a special invite that will surely redline their adrenaline. Ford is presenting each owner with a complimentary GT350 Track Attack program offered by Ford Performance Racing School, located at Utah Motorsports Campus in Tooele, Utah.

“GT350 is a car that needs to be experienced on a closed road course,” said Jim Owens, Ford Performance marketing manager. “The program is designed for owners to learn how to get the most out of their car so they can appreciate the unique performance Shelby GT350 delivers, while also gaining driving skills and experience. It’s going to be a ton of fun.”

Even a single day on track at the school will increase driver skill levels and allow owners to understand the nuances of their Shelby GT350, while pushing performance and handling in a safe environment under professional supervision. “The experience not only teaches high-performance driving skills, including braking, shifting and cornering techniques, but also focuses on the particular dynamics of the GT350 and GT350R,” Owens added.

According to Ford, The GT350 Track Attack program includes an evening reception followed by a one-day performance driving school. Students will receive classroom and on-track driver training with Ford Performance Racing School instructors.

“The program is included with the purchase of a 2015 or 2016 Shelby GT350 and GT350R Mustang, which is on sale now in the U.S. and Canada,” Owens explained. And best of all, owners do not need to bring their own car, but they are responsible for airfare and lodging. And, for an additional fee, participants can add a second track day, as well as additional driving and non-driving programs.

“Regardless of a person’s driving ability, this will be an unbelievable experience,” said Dan McKeever, president, Ford Performance Racing School. From the weekend track warrior, to the car collector, this program provides the skills needed to really enjoy Shelby GT350 Mustang in the environment for which it is designed.”

McKeever added, “Participants are encouraged to bring a guest along to watch. And for an additional cost, owners can get behind the wheel of one of the school’s race-prepared 2015 Mustangs, or extend their experience another day to drive a race-prepared Boss 302 or Mustang GT.”
