For America’s youth, Spring Break in Florida has been a rite of passage. It’s a time for college kids to break free from the cold, head south, and cut loose with beaches and beverages. We’ve all seen the countless YouTube videos and wild antics, but there’s another Spring Break that we want to tell you about.

Looking to get out of the cold, the MM&FF staff created a racing-themed Spring Break event, and for over two decades Ford fans have flocked to Bradenton Motorsports Park in early March for the high-octane Spring Break Shootout extravaganza.

Now in its 22nd year, the Nitto NMRA Spring Break Shootout presented by Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords, has provided enthusiasts with a wheels-up drag racing circus to feed you a diet of high-performance automotive pleasures. In addition to the great racing, there’s always special events—this year BoostedGT from the hit TV show Street Outlaws made exhibition runs and grudge raced racers willing to call him out. QA1 True Street had over 100 participants and the pits were packed with every type power adder you could dream of.

Of course every NMRA event provides the world’s quickest and fastest street-legal Mustangs and Fords, from the wild small-tire freak Outlaws to the gear-jammin’ Coyote Stockers. The NMRA also offers bracket and index racing, test and tune, and we always find a few trackside parties.
