OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational Airing Feb 22 on MAVTV
75 Street Cars Compete for “Ultimate Street Car” Title
Optima batteries, global leader in high-performance automobile and marine AGM batteries and chargers, held its 6th-annual OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational following the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. On Saturday February 22, the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational television special will air on MAVTV. With some competitors coming straight from SEMA’s show floor, you can expect highly-modified vehicles of all makes and models, veterans in the industry as well as fresh meat.
This year, OPTIMA Batteries is hosting a Twitter chat with the event participants and sponsors during the broadcast for people to give opinions, ask questions and win prizes. Follow OPTIMA Batteries (@optimabatteries) to join the discussion!
Competition was stiff this year and you can expect to see heavily-modified cars from around the world featuring Mustangs old and new, as well as Corvettes, Camaros, Porsches, and many others. Mark Stielow, owner of a supercharged ’67 Camaro, is a two-time winner and will be trying to defend his title, so tune in and see if he holds it or one of our blue ovals takes him out at Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club in Pahrump, Nevada.
“We’re excited to give viewers such an intense and well-rounded look at this year’s OPTIMA Invitational,” said Cam Douglass, director of product development and marketing for OPTIMA Batteries. “Now in our sixth year, the competition continues to grow and gain more support and more intense on-track action each year. 2013 brought the best and most passionate, qualified street car enthusiasts yet and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2014.”
For the 2013 OPTIMA Invitational, competitors took on the BFGoodrich Hot Lap Challenge, Ridetech Street Challenge Autocross, Wilwood Disc Brakes Speed Shop Challenge and the Lingenfelter Performance and Design Challenge.
Make sure to tune in or set your DVR for 5 and/or 8 p.m. on February 22nd to catch all of the action between 75 street cars looking to earn the title of “Ultimate Street Car.” All vehicles competing must be street-legal, licensed with true street tires. Foreign and American rides battle it out for the top spot and you don’t want to miss it!
