A car most enthusiasts would love to own is the classic Shelby GT350 Ford Mustang. Hitting up the Mecum auction in Kissimmee, Florida, this month is this Acapulco Blue 1968 Shelby GT350 convertible (Lot S171.1).
This vehicle is 1 of 19 ’68 Shelby GT350 convertibles produced with the combination of features including the J-code 302 ci V-8 engine and four-speed manual transmission. It is 1 of 404 total Shelby GT350 convertibles produced in 1968 and is capable of 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.
Two owners are documented in the Shelby Registry (#2644). If interested in purchasing the Shelby, it comes with the original Shelby factory invoice, original Shelby factory order sheet, and complete Elite Marti Report.
Eventually it was repainted the original factory colors of Acapulco Blue with white stripes in the 1980s and remains in pristine condition. Under the soft white convertible top is black leather interior. Features include power steering, power front disc brakes, and Shelby 10-spoke aluminum wheels.
According to the Mecum description, this Shelby has won awards at regional and national SAAC events.
If interested in the history of the car, it was originally shipped to Frontier Motor Sales, Inc. of Niagara Falls, NY on April 18, 1968.
