Auctions America starts the 2014 collector car year with the 12th-annual auction held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from March 14-16, 2014. One particular car up for auction is this rare, newly restored 1963 Shelby Cobra 289.
In addition to the 1963 Shelby Cobra there is also a 1965 Shelby GT350, 1930 Ford Model A Pickup (stock restored), 1968 Shelby GT350 convertible, and 1970 Boss 302 all up for grabs.
More than 450 American and European classics and sports cars, Detroit’s muscle cars, hot rods, and custom cars will be auctioned off with something to fit almost everyone’s taste and budget.
In the perfect South Florida weather, last year’s Fort Lauderdale auction was the most successful year with more than 17.5 million in sales with 74 percent of all lots sold.
“Over the years the South Florida area has developed its own car culture—it’s one of the hottest exotic markets in the world,” said Donnie Gold, President of Auctions America. “Whether you are an exotic car lover looking for something extra rare or an American car fanatic looking for a classic you can’t find elsewhere – the Fort Lauderdale auction has something for everyone.”
Held at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, the auction is open to the public with a day rate of $10 and a weekend pass of $25. Children under 12 will get free admission.
If interested in bidding on any of the cars, it can be done in person or via the internet, absentee, or telephone and the event will stream live online at www.auctionsamerica.com providing real-time coverage.
