Rare Ford Mustangs To Cross Auction America in Los Angeles Auctions America is setting up shop at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel, with a few special Ford Mustangs to cross the auction block August 1 – 3. Exclusive live television coverage of the event will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network, August 2 from 7p.m. – 9p.m. EST and August 3 from 1p.m.-5p.m. EST.

Here is a preview of a few Mustangs that will be available.

1993 Ford Mustang Cobra R

Back in 1993, Ford created the Cobra R Mustang with the intention of building a race-ready car capable of heading to the track straight off of the showroom floor. Thanks to Ford’s Special Vehicles Team (SVT), the Cobra R certainly blew folks away. With only 107 originally built, some were stashed away into collectors’ garages.

That rings true with this particular Cobra R. Instead of hitting the racetrack, this car was stowed away in two important Ford collections and has accumulated only 600 miles on the odometer.

Under the hood is a 302 cubic-inch V-8 capable of 235 hp. It sports a five-speed manual transmission, independent front suspension with coil springs, live axle rear suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes.

2007 Ford Mustang G.T. 500 Super Snake

Here is the first ever Super Snake delivered to the public. With super low mileage, this Gun Metal Grey 2007 Shelby features all the goodies. It has Stage II Performance upgrades plus the 725 hp option complete with a Kenne Bell supercharger and suspension upgrades installed at Shelby Performance Center in Las Vegas.

This Shelby includes optional dash instrumentation, Shelby suspension components, strengthened rear end, high performance gears and carbon fiber driveshaft. Most noticeable is the carbon fiber hood with signature “flat” intake scoop with twin air ducts.

Looking to make his comeback into the Mustang performance world, the late Carroll Shelby developed the 2007 Shelby G.T. 500 Super Snake. This is a collector’s item that will only appreciate as a real piece of Shelby history. Behind the 725 hp OHV V-8 engine is a six-speed manual transmission. Other goodies include Shelby/Ford Racing suspension with adjustable dampers, Shelby 6-piston caliper front brakes, and upgraded rear rotors.

1993 Ford Saleen Mustang Convertible

This white on black Saleen convertible features custom Saleen bodywork, a race-inspired interior, and a supercharger under the hood. With just 53,000 miles on the odometer, it is in excellent condition. It joins the auction from an extensive Saleen collection and is a prime example of a rare Fox-body Mustang. Steve Saleen’s signature graces the dashboard, and the interior features black and grey Recaro seats. With a five-speed transmission, this Saleen convertible will make a fun addition to anybody’s garage and will take on the track or just cruise on those sunny weekends.
