AmericanMuscle, one of the world’s leading sellers of aftermarket Mustang parts and accessories, was recently on the hunt for Mustangs in the area of its Malvern, Pennsylvania, HQ to take part in the first Mustang Mayhem competition on May 31st. After choosing six cars out of a stack of entries, each monster Mustang was strapped down to AmericanMuscle’s own dyno for 30 minutes of testing and tuning. And they got it all on video.

While each car’s boosted combinations were lethal, only one Mustang could be crowned the top dog of Mustang Mayhem, with all the requisite street cred and bragging rights that go along with it. The competition was judged strictly on the final numbers put down on the last dyno run. After the rollers stopped and the numbers were tallied, the king for 2013 was crowned. All hail Shawn Werner, owner of a 2012 GT500 Super Snake equipped with a 3.6L Kenne Bell supercharger, which cranked out an impressive 667 horses!

Second place went to Shannon Bourn, owner of a 2009 GT500 with a TVS VMP supercharger, helping his Mustang throw down 651 horses. Following in third was Jon Lund, who brought a stock 2014 GT500 with a custom tune that generated a mean 629 horsepower.

Awards with the engraved names of PA’s finest went out to each competitor along with a healthy dose of bragging rights throughout the Mustang community. This was the first Mustang Mayhem throw down, but it may not be the last! This could possibly turn into an annual shindig with more Mustang owners ready to lay the smack down for the Mayhem title.

Below are the six competitors and where they placed during the competition, along with a video of all the action straight from the dyno.
