Kentucky is a wonderful place. The folks from the Derby City Mustang club are as down-home and nice as they come. And the countryside is simply beautiful. Though our experience with the great state of Kentucky is only around Louisville (we'll be in the northeast part of the state for this trail), we have always enjoyed the rugged and rolling country that makes up the Blue Grass state.
The September in the Park 2004 Mustang and Ford Weekend Getaway Show looks to be quite the event. This show promises a great deal of fun and frolic with country and western line dancing (yes, we'll have our cowboy boots and Wrangler wear), and the chance to view all the area's best cars. be sure to bring out your Ford, who knows, you might be able to get yourself in our fine magazine.
The Trail is also one that you won't want to miss. We are planning a trip to the Kentucky Speedway, and will end up at a scenic overlook outside of Carrollton that overlooks the Ohio River. lunch will be available at the scenic overlook.
Seventh Annual September In The ParkSeptember 10-12, 2004From all reports the September in the Park show will be one to remember. As of this writing, Ron and his cohorts have put together a show that will feature some of the best fun we've had. Rumored activities include a country and western dance night, as well as other activities. This event is open to all Mustangs and other Ford-powered vehicles.
According to the flier, "This weekend is packed with beautiful cars, fun, food, and entertainment, and is a great way to spend a fall weekend with your entire family. You need not have a car to take part in the festivities. Bring your blankets and chairs and spend a weekend in scenic General Butler State Park. Let the children play games, ride the train, and make new friends at this family oriented event while you enjoy viewing vehicles from as far away as North Carolina and New York!"
