35th annual Mid America Ford Performance and Team Shelby Nationals - Tulsa Time!

For the 4th year in a row, Shelby Automobiles took advantage of the crowds of Mustang enthusiasts at the Cruise night to unveil a new Shelby.

This year it was the new '05-'09 Shelby SR, a post dealer program to turn your '05-'09 Mustang GT into a genuine Shelby with 550 hp, unique hood and appearance package, interior upgrades and more.

CDC's Travis Huisman took the checkered flag in the MRT late-model exhibition race while Charlie Jones took top honors in the CVAR early model exhibition. Both races had full fields of fast Fords.

Scott Hoag knows how to drive a Mustang, and he knows Hallett very well.

When he offered us a ride along we jumped at the chance!

Explosive acceleration, shift, brake, turn in, touch the curb, repeat if necessary--an "E Ticket" ride for sure!

Carroll Shelby won Le Mans on June 21, 1959, and that milestone was celebrated in style on Friday night! All team Shelby members were presented with commemorative mugs and other trinkets, and the entire Mid America crowd was treated to an evening of celebration and remembrances. Mr. Shelby himself was on hand and remembered the victory with many old friends, including Austin Craig (pictured), Team Shelby Driver Tom Yeager and many others.

The Shelby Performance Parts Drag Racing Day on Saturday brought out racers from the NMRA...

..., FFW and Clash of the Titans, as well as many newbies and street cars...

...for some good ol' fashioned test and tune, brackets and bragging rights.

Cobra Jet vs Cobra Jet! In one of the day's most anticipated grudge matches, it was the '09 Cobra Jet taking the win as the '68 CJ dropped a rod at mid track.

A packed house of over 700 Ford enthusiasts were on hand for an evening of fine dining (GREAT Filet!), door prizes, and auction items for the Carroll Shelby Foundation and rousing speeches from Ford's Mike Crowley, Rick Titus, Carroll Shelby, Shelby Automobile's Amy Boylan, and many others.

Overhaulin's Cherie Westrich brought this '26 Model T that her grandfather used to play "Santa" in when she was a little girl. The antique belonged to a family friend for many years and was recently offered to Cherie, who plans to get it running in the near future.

Wash and Shine, it must be Sunday at Tulsa!

Following on the success of their '05-'09 Twister Specials, R&A Motorsports unveiled their new Dominator series for the '10 Mustangs. Engine upgrades, subtle exterior and interior enhancements and limited production make for a nice package.

From high atop the Kicker Audio trailer, the car show field extends out in all directions. Mid America is the only place where seeing a Shelby Mustang becomes commonplace.
