The great thing about the... The great thing about the NMRA car shows is the diversity as you walk the show field. From supercharged S197s and four-wheel-drive F-series on 44s, to old guard iron like Tom Ratcliff's '63 Galaxie XL500, there are rows and rows of great-looking Fords you don't want to miss. The Raven Black beauty is powered by the 300hp 390 FE and backed by the stock four-speed with a 3.50 geared 9-inch out back, the perfect Saturday cruiser if you ask us. At first blush you would think... At first blush you would think Chris Wooten's New Edge was just another tricked out Terminator Cobra, but dig deeper and you'll find out that Chris' wicked ride is actually an '02 GT that's had a heart transplant. Under the bonnet is a true '04 Cobra four-valve, topped by a pullied Eaton blower. Though it's street driven (we noticed the 4R70W auto in the tunnel), the open air bruiser has seen track duty to the tune of 11.86 at 112 mph. Chris' GT also sports Eibach/Hotchkis/Steeda underpinnings with big brakes from Wilwood and Baer at the corners. Host clubs Wicked Motorsports... Host clubs Wicked Motorsports and www.eastcoaststang.com had the tough job of judging all these fine Fords. Ford's Torino was a popular... Ford's Torino was a popular car right from day one and it was offered with a plethora of options. Fred Tolin's '71 Torino GT convertible is one rare find for sure. The 429 4V powered GT has nearly $1,500 in options installed, which is nearly half the base price of the car! From electric windows to the popular Laser Stripe, this Torino is well optioned, but the 429 under hood is what makes it what it is; one of only 30 big-block Torino convertibles built in 1971. Today but five are known to be left. There must be something in... There must be something in the water in Atco, that or it was perfect convertible weather because we couldn't help but notice (look, another convertible!) the sheer amount of soft top rides on the show field. Take Tom and Priscilla Hoffman's '00 GT convertible here. What a great way to enjoy the summer by dropping the top on their customized V-6. While the V-6 gets a little help from a BBK cold air kit, the Hoffman's put their time into the outside with custom paint, a CDC Classic Light Bar, and chrome Bullitts with spinners at all four corners. Don't let the stock-appearing... Don't let the stock-appearing '66 Mustang of Ken Hoff fool you, because all it will take is one look under the hood (or a jab at the throttle) to know Ken's packing NOVI power from Paxton under the hood; hence the S in his custom rocker stripes. You've been warned!
