Car reveals have been around as long as cars themselves, and while original equipment manufacturers use the big auto shows to show you their latest concepts and models, Sema show vendors often use car reveals to bring attention to their products. There are builders galore that would love to showcase their talents at the show, and a Ringbrothers creation is one such builder that is pretty much guaranteed to get your booth some traffic.
We were present for two Ringbrothers reveals on the first day of the 2013 Sema show, and the crowds at both were impressive. We arrived ten minutes early for the Blizzard Mustang reveal at the Global Finishing Solutions booth. We nabbed a front row spot among the growing crowd, which was made up of people expecting a Ringbrothers creation, as well as people who we're walking by and stopped to find out what all the hubbub was about.
After the cover was pulled back, everyone got to see the Mustang project, Blizzard, in all its customized glory. Look for more on the Mustang in our online Mustangs of Sema story, and eventually in an upcoming full feature in print.
While the initial reveal likely spurred more questions about the car and its builders, the car's presence throughout the show will likely do more to bring in people who may inquire about the booth's products. The connection between builder and booth vendor usually revolves around a joint working relationship; in this case, Ringbrothers utilizes a GFS paint booth to ensure quality paint jobs for all of its builds.
It's a win-win situation for everyone involved, from the vendor to the builder to the vehicle owner to the spectator, and as long as they keep hiding beautiful cars beneath the car covers, the foot traffic is sure to come.
