The larger than life online auction company eBay just announced a new program called “The Road Home” in collaboration with West Coast Customs and the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) to honor US service members ahead of Veteran’s Day.
Four veterans that have overcome obstacles in their lives will be surprised with custom-built vehicles brought to life by West Coast Customs built to fit the personality and interests of each individual veteran. The base vehicles and majority of parts were sourced out through eBay, mostly using the eBay Motors mobile app. This program will also raise funds for the IAVA.
One of the four cars built for the veterans included a 1969 Ford Mustang Convertible. This special classic Mustang was influenced by the veteran’s “spitfire” personality as well as her passion for the Kentucky Wildcats, and the car was given a royal blue paint job to match the team’s signature colors.
Folks can now visit “The Road Home” for more information on the program and enter for a chance to win the fifth vehicle by West Coast Customs, a 2012 Chrysler 300S. Knowing West Coast Customs, you can bet that this is a one-of-a-kind Chrysler.
You can enter daily by watching the weekly, behind-the-scenes episodes from West coast Customs for a promo code, creating or updating a profile on eBay Garage or by making a donation to the IAVA. On top of that, West Coast Customs will dedicate an episode of Inside West Coast Customs to “The Road Home” revealing the vehicles to three of the veterans on a special broadcast airing Sunday, November 10th on FOX Sports Network (FSN).
Military members and their families can access discounted offers from various partners through “The Road Home.” They can verify their military ID through TroopID and instantly claim offers from Under Armour, CoffeeForLess.com, Sweet Stays for Soldiers, and more.
“We are honored to work with West Coast Customs and the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America to thank these four very deserving service members and car fans in a personal way, with custom-built vehicles tailored specifically for them,” said Steve Yankovich, vice president of innovation and new ventures at eBay. “The IAVA’s involvement in this program helps us to extend the reach of this program beyond the four veterans being honored to recognize and support servicemen and women around the country.”
